Before arguably one of the biggest games of the season days before the most important month of the schedule, the Blue Jays’ forgotten man was doing his best to be a part of the show.

Anthony Santander, the slugger the Jays signed to a five-year, $92-million deal in the off-season, is fighting his way back to at least have an opportunity to help his new team come playoff time.

For the first time since he went to the injured list back in late May, Santander took batting practice on Friday as he makes an aggressive push to return to the lineup and contribute.
