STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It’s not yet known exactly what Roddy Singletary said to New York State Parole Board commissioners in securing his release from prison, but it must have been compelling.
Singletary was 21 years old when he fatally shot a man inside a crowded Tompkinsville bar, wounding three others. He has now been granted parole for the 2001 incident, with assistance from a legal team at New York University.
