TWIN FALLS — The conversations were respectful and civil on Wednesday night as 11 local officials talked face to face with 40 of their constituents over cocktails and Coors Light.

Twin Falls resident Briana Valadao learned about local government as she talked to her county commissioners, mayor and school district leaders. It wasn't like a town hall she attended earlier this year, she said, where there was a lot of shouting.

"You see each other as human," Valadao said.

Indivisible Twin Falls County Idaho hosted the "Speed Representing" event on Wednesday at Stone House & Co. in Twin Falls.

"Think of it like speed dating, but instead of finding romance, we're building democracy," Indivisible Co-Chair Heather Muth said.
