After more than three decades of twists and turns, the waterslide at Saanich Commonwealth Place is set to get a colourful new replacement.
Renovations are underway at the pool, including a major maintenance project that has portions of the facility closed until late October.
The waterslide itself has been out of commission for nearly two years, after engineers and the manufacturer deemed it was at the end of its lifespan.
Built in 1993, the aging slide will soon give way to a new design aimed at bringing back fun for riders of all ages.
The District of Saanich confirmed that Vancouver-based Whitewater West was selected to supply the replacement slide, following a competitive process last year.
