Michigan State will start the 2025 season on defense after winning the coin toss. Football time!

For the first time in about nine months, it is a beautiful day for football! Michigan State opens the 2025 campaign with its usual Friday night kickoff, this time against Western Michigan. The Spartans are 11-0 in Friday night home games since 2011.

Coach Jonathan Smith saw his first season come to end one win short of a bowl game after the Spartans lost seven of their last nine. Year 2 does not come without promise, however, as a revamped roster has a chance to improve on last season's 5-7.
