SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Queen City is known for its heaping helping of restaurant options. But, according to a new report, the city is also one of the top in the nation for food manufacturing.

According to Global Location Strategies Best Places for Food Manufacturing Report, Springfield is one of the top 25 cities nationally for food manufacturing.

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce reports that food production is the fourth-largest industry in the metro area, employing more than 3,000 people. That number represents 16.2% of manufacturing jobs in the city and the immediate surrounding area.
