Thanks to a script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, director Pierre Morel successfully transformed Academy Award-nominee Liam Neeson into one of the most popular action heroes of all time with Taken. While the filmmaker sadly didn’t find the same success with this later action thriller effort, maybe he should have, as it morphs an MCU star into just as captivating a genre icon as Neeson’s Bryan Mills.
