BLAIR, Neb. (WOWT) - What appears to be an empty field in Blair will, in two years, hold the city’s first new apartment complex in more than two decades.
It’s a local project — tackling a national issue.
“New homes are just becoming unattainable for some people, so that is why we have to look at apartments or other types of housing,” Gateway Development Corporation Executive Director Mike Rooks said.
Rooks has pushed for Blair Crossing , pointing to what he says are the thousands of commuters that cross county lines every day.
These new apartments, he says, will give workers a smarter living option.
