Some Missouri Republicans have their sights set on flipping the 5th Congressional district – a seat held for almost 21 years by Kansas City Democrat Emanuel Cleaver.

Gov. Mike Kehoe has called a special session to begin September 3 to change congressional districts and to make it tougher to pass citizen-led initiatives at the ballot box.

Since Cleaver has been in Congress for more than two decades, some of the Republicans who support changing congressional voting districts are his friends. He gives his perspective on the spot this has put him in with friends.
