Steve Spurrier was South Carolina football coach from 2005-15, joining the Gamecocks after taking a season off following two years with the Washington Redskins and 12 seasons at Florida, winning a national championship in 1996.
The 1966 Heisman Trophy winner at Florida coached South Carolina to the SEC East championship in 2010. Spurrier led the Gamecocks to three consecutive top 10 finishes from 2011-13, including a No. 4 final ranking in 2013.
