LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Fern Creek Fire and EMS cut the ribbon Friday on the expanded Station 73 off Cedar Creek Road, the first update since the station was built in 2009.
The upgrade comes as the area experiences rapid residential growth and a rising demand for emergency services.
“There have been 3,000 homes that have just been built out here in the last year or so, and you can see just driving around, subdivisions are popping up all over. So, this house will serve both fire and EMS,” Chief Scott Evans said.
Evans said the station’s coverage will now better reach nearby neighborhoods and communities.
