A community group has raised over $50,000 to mount a campaign to stop a 2 million-square-foot warehouse from coming to Yucaipa .

The same day the Yucaipa City Council voted to adopt a plan that would clear a path for the warehouse development, Friends of Live Oak Canyon urged its social media followers to pledge financial support to place a referendum against the project on the November ballot.

In the post Monday, Aug. 25, the group asked for $50,000 in donations by the end of the week. The group met that goal Thursday, according to David Matuszak, president of Friends of Live Oak Canyon.
