CEDAR KEY, Fla. (WCJB) - Big Dock, a Cedar Key landmark damaged by multiple hurricanes, is about to reopen, following an inspection.

“The dock represents the comeback of Cedar Key,” shared Cedar Key Mayor Jeff Webb.

The Big Dock repairs are a project months in the works.

“The process has been long, and it’s been disappointing to be honest with you,” Webb said.

It all started after the island took big hits during Hurricanes Idalia and Helene in back-to-back years.

The dock’s been roped off since last year, and city officials have been pushing for its completion, as this is people’s favorite fishing spot.
