COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities are investigating after a crash in Ross County early Friday morning left a 35-year-old man dead.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a preliminary investigation found that a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander heading south on state Route 159 hit a pedestrian just before 5:45 a.m.
The driver of the Chevrolet left the scene, abandoning his vehicle near the 200 block of North Bridge Street in Chillicothe, OSHP said.
The pedestrian, identified as Frankie Bostwick of Chillicothe, was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver was later found and is being held at the Ross County Law Enforcement Complex, according to OSHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
