SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — So far this summer, traffic deaths have been significantly lower than in past years, despite a record number of deadly motorcycle crashes.
We are currently nearing the end of the 100 Deadliest Days, the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day when traffic fatalities usually rise as more people are out on the road enjoying their summers.
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) released initial information on roadway deaths this year and over the summer, and the total number of summer crashes has reached a 10-year low.
So far this year, traffic fatalities have gone down 10%, and summer fatalities are down 18%. As we head into Labor Day weekend, officials are urging Utahns to stay safe on the roads this holiday. La
