SPOKANE, Wash. – The International Union of Operating Engineers and the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors Association have been in negotiations since May over collective bargaining agreements.

The union authorized a strike on June 27 after rejecting what the AGC called their “last best and final offer.”

Despite rounds of negotiations, tentative agreements, and canceled meetings, mediation was proposed by the AGC but declined by the union.

The proposed package includes yearly wage increases, improved health care, and additional benefits.

The AGC emphasized their commitment to resolving the strike quickly, stating, “Our priority continues to be resolving this strike quickly so employees can return to work, and critical projects can move forward.”
