LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Extended side street closures are taking effect next week in Old Louisville.
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 3, the intersections of both South Brook and Kentucky Streets, and Hill Street and Burnett Avenue will be closed to traffic until spring 2027.
“People will get in their minds that Old Louisville has traffic issues," said Daniel Borsch, who owns three restaurants in the neighborhood, including Burger Boy Diner.
He said the road will be closed to travelers just one block away from his 24-hour diner at the corner of Brook Street and Burnett Avenue.
The restaurant is also near Hill Street and I-65, where a major project in Louisville will shut down the interstate for months next year.
