NEW RICHMOND, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In one of the top rivalry games in all of southern West Virginia, the Battle for the Golden Shovel saw Westside walk away with the hardware once again.

The Renegades stormed past the Wyoming East Warriors on their home turf, securing a decisive 54-6 victory in the season opener.

From the opening kickoff, Westside set the tone.

The Renegades’ offense was relentless, moving the ball with precision and scoring at will, while their defense stifled any attempt by the Warriors to gain momentum. Wyoming East managed a lone touchdown in the game, but it wasn’t enough to slow the Renegades’ momentum.

With the win, Westside improves to 1-0 and will carry that confidence into next week’s road matchup at Mingo Central.
