Walker Buehler signed a $20 million contract with the Boston Red Sox during the past winter, but he wasn’t able to meet expectations.
Buehler lost his rotation spot a few days ago, and ultimately he also lost his roster spot on Friday. The Red Sox released the veteran pitcher; he wasn’t even designated for assignment. The team gave him the opportunity to look for another opportunity on a contender, and he only has 72 hours to be able to play in October.
