PHOENIX — A 1-year-old girl was pulled from an apartment complex pool and taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to officials with the Phoenix police and fire departments.

Crews responded to the complex near 35th Avenue and Dobbins Road for reports of a drowning. When they arrived at the scene, they learned a toddler had been pulled from the apartment complex pool and was alert and breathing, officials said. She was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The girl was not supervised at the time, police said, and they are investigating the incident.
