CLEVELAND, Ohio — Glenville’s dominant defense led it to a gritty 13-7 victory over defending Division I state champion Olentangy Liberty on the road Friday.
Ranked No.1 in cleveland.com’s high school football Top 25, Glenville (2-0) showed why it earned that spot. The Tarblooders handed the Patriots their second loss of the season, dropping Olentangy Liberty to 0-2.
Defensively, the team was led by Ohio State commit Cincere Johnson. Defensive lineman Dion’dre Taylor also had a standout performance, recording three sacks and forcing two fumbles. Both of Taylor’s forced fumbles occurred late in the second quarter, but Glenville was unable to recover either of them.
