MEDINA, Ohio — In a rematch from last season, which Amherst won 42-21, Buckeye came back for revenge and defeated the Comets on Friday, 21-13

“We beat a really good team, and we knew we were going to have to do a lot of things well, and we were going to have to overcome some things, and we did, and I’m proud of just how hard our kids played,” said ninth-year Buckeye coach Greg Dennison, his team now 2-0.

After losing many notable seniors in the offseason, including Troy McCann and Trey Windemeyer, expectations about the Bucks were uncertain going into this season, even after making it to the regional quarterfinals last year.
