MARION -- For most of the first half Friday night at Southern Bancorp Stadium, Wynne had controlled the proceedings, leading 20-13 with less than 10 minutes left in the second quarter.
That's when Marion's big-play offense and special teams shook awake.
The Patriots scored the final 20 points of the first half, part of a run of 33 unanswered points, as they pulled away for a 60-27 victory over Wynne.
The victory was the third in a row for Marion over Wynne, whom the Patriots have played every season since 1970.
"Obviously, we like scoring 33 points in a row," fifth-year Marion Coach Lance Clark said. "It's a credit to our kids that we didn't get down when we trailed in the second. The sideline may have gotten a little flat at times, but it didn't linger. It's a testament to our kids th
