LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - In Kentucky football’s season opener they faced Toledo and won, 24-16.

The Wildcats first drive resulted in a punt.

The ball went right back to Kentucky during the Rockets first drive when JQ Hardaway intercepted a pass with 10:15 remaining in the first quarter.

With 6:27 remaining in the first quarter, Quarterback Zach Calzada scored a one-yard rushing Touchdown.

The Wildcats led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Kentucky made a few mistakes offensively.

In UK’s first drive of the second quarter, the Rockets tackled Calzada in the endzone resulting in a safety.

Then on the ‘Cats second drive, Willie Rodriquez fumbled the football, which was recovered by the Rockets.
