PENNY HILL – Brandywine’s offense wasn’t where it will need to be to succeed later in the season.
It didn’t matter.
The Bulldogs’ defense and special teams were the stars in a 30-0 opening victory at Mount Pleasant on Aug. 29.
Both of Darien Griffin’s blocked punts were recovered for touchdowns – the first by Stephan West, the second by Griffin – as Brandywine pulled away in the fourth quarter.
