Shortly after being hired at Mountain View in April 2024, Sean McDonald was making the rounds on campus when the head coach was introduced to a freshman interested in joining the team despite having never played football.
Less than two years later, junior Jack Fournier is trending toward being the top target in Mountain View’s offense.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end has a background in basketball, but his rapid ascent on the gridiron is a byproduct of countless hours he’s spent this offseason honing his new craft at workouts with a private trainer, 7-on-7 scrimmages and, of course, Mountain View’s weight room.
McDonald estimates Fournier has added 20 pounds since last season ended.
