Bruce Willis’ family has been sharing his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis with his fans for quite some time. Caring for a loved one with dementia is not an easy journey, and wife Emma Heming’s frank discussion in the Diane Sawyer special, Emma and Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey, on Aug. 26 has unsettled some people.

Heming revealed that her family made the “hard decision” to move the 70-year-old actor into a separate, one-story home with full-time care. “Bruce would want that for our daughters,” she said. “He would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”
