Defensive dominance was the storyline during the three games of the “Battle on the Bluff.”
Glen Oaks shut out Capitol in the first game of the evening on Friday at A.W. Mumford Stadium. The Panthers picked off Lions junior quarterback Cameron Wilson twice, once by Jeremiah Smith and again by Jaquan Jackson.
“I’m really proud of the defense,” Glen Oaks head coach Anthony Jones said. “We’ve got some young guys, but they’re coming with it.”
The Panthers shut out Capitol in a 6-0 win. Glen Oaks' only score came at the beginning of the second half. Carderious Jackson returned the kickoff 80 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown.
