WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- Warwick police are investigating a serious motorcycle accident that happened on Saturday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., the Warwick Police Department was called to the area of 390 Toll Gate Rd. for a reported crash involving a motorcycle and another car.

Investigators say the driver of the car, who is not being identified at this time, was attempting to turn left into a parking lot, when the motorcycle hit the back of the vehicle.

The operator of the motorcycle, only identified as a 29-year-old, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital trauma Center with life threatening injuries.
