HIBBING, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Hibbing Police Department responded to calls of an armed suspect threatening to shoot others on the 2200 block of 4th Ave. west around 10:45 am Saturday morning.
Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and tried to negotiate a surrender, when officers spotted the male suspect in the backyard with a shotgun.
According to HPD, after nearly an hour of negotiations, less lethal munitions were used to subdue and place the male in custody.
The male suspect was taken to the Fairview Range for an evaluation.
