CHISHOLM, Minn. (Northern News Now) - In the Iron Range, a baker created an event to bring together dessert lovers and raise money.
Saturday was the first annual cake exchange at Chisholm’s Minnesota Discovery Center. 20 cakes were carefully crafted and displayed.
Each ranged in style and flavor. Cake was provided to all attendees, but those who made a cake got to exchange it for another.
The event also brought in local business owners, from candle makers to musicians. Owner of The Northern Star Bakery, Gabrielle Griffin, was inspired to start the event to help raise money for her own storefront. Rather than hosting the event in a different city, she wanted to support the Iron Range community.
