The Silsbee Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that injured two people on Friday night.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of Sweat Road around 11:22 p.m., where they found out that a 26-year-old man had been shot in the legs, and an 11-year-old child was also struck in the leg by a bullet during the incident.
Both victims were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not yet identified the shooter, but they believe the incident may have resulted from an earlier altercation.
