A District Judge has granted a motion by attorneys for a murder defendant to replace District Attorney Courtney Tracy Ponthier for potential “prosecutorial misconduct,” and to appoint a Hardin County district attorney to replace her at trial.

Zachary Allen Wilson, 22, is charged with the murder of 39-year-old James Hollie in Deweyville on June 18th, 2022.

The autopsy report says Hollie was shot three times with a shotgun. The autopsy indicated shotgun wounds of the head, chest and left arm. The report said the coroner recovered shotgun projectiles from the head, left arm and chest. No soot or stippling was found.

District Judge Craig Mixson granted a motion to remove Ponthier filed by attorney Cory Crenshaw of Beaumont and assisting attorney Matt Morian of Jasper.
