Two JEDCO board members resign, others discuss personnel and form committees to regroup

JEDCO board members Chris Lanier and Tressy Morgan resigned Tuesday during an executive closed session, quietly leaving the building while twelve members continued business.

The board will meet Sept. 15 to work on the JEDCO budget, which has to be turned over to the city for approval. Board President Bill Grant said he has a copy of last year’s budget, but has several questions about the content.

Grant said duties and contract specification need to be put in place for JEDCO employees and contract laborers.

Grant called for volunteers for a committee to select a new executive director to replace Eddie Hopkins, who resigned in January. Grant told the board that he has advertised the executive director
