FRISCO Permian’s season began with a 27-17 loss to Plano in the Jerry Jones Classic Saturday at the Ford Center in Frisco.

Playing in the season opener on the road, the Panthers fell to 0-1 as the Wildcats (1-0) controlled the pace of the game, leading for the majority of the contest.

Neither side could crack the scoreboard in the first quarter as the game was tied 0-0 going into the second quarter.

Permian would strike first with an Iker Munoz field goal.

Plano scored on a 56-yard touchdown pass and the Wildcats took a 7-3 lead with 8:57 remaining.

The game moved at a slow pace as the first half took an hour-and-an-half to complete and when intermission started, Permian still trailed 7-3.
