It has been a long offseason but Michigan football is finally back on the field as the Bryce Underwood era begins with the season opener against New Mexico (7:36 p.m., NBC, Peacock , Fubo ) at Michigan Stadium.

After a disappointing 8-5 season in 2024 followed their 15-0 run and College Football Playoff championship, the Wolverines are once again beginning the climb to the top of the Big Ten.

The Wolverines are led by coach Sherrone Moore in his second season, and have exciting new additions with starting quarterback Underwood, a true freshman who just turned 18, and running back Justice Haynes, an Alabama transfer .
