EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - UConn football defeated CCSU to kick off the college football season on Saturday.
Fans from across the state came out to Rentschler Field to see the action.
Many said they were lined up outside the stadium before they were allowed in.
They spent the day eating and gearing up to watch a Connecticut battle.
“For me, it’s the tailgating. I love to see the friends, the fans, all of it,” said Jessica Torres from Vernon.
Once people got inside the stadium, the fan zone and food trucks were a big attraction.
The stands were full of fans who wanted to see all the action on the field.
“It’s been a little pro UConn, but I’m still a good old Blue Devil,” said Miguel Pagan, CCSU Junior.
