WILTON, CT (WFSB) - A man was arrested for breaking into a vehicle and using its owner’s bank card.
Police in Wilton said they charged Jacek Gwiazda, 19, of Ansonia, with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, criminal attempt at third-degree larceny, and multiple counts of theft of a payment card.
According to police, they were contacted by the vehicle owner on March 17, 2025. The owner noticed that their vehicle had been entered during the overnight hours and that later in the morning, their bank notified them that a number of purchases were made on their stolen bank card.
Police said they made contact with the businesses where the card was used and identified Gwiazda through surveillance photos, which were posted on social media platforms.
An arrest warrant was sought.
