MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) - A man was arrested for allegedly trying to use drugs before fleeing from police on August 27 in Meriden.

The man was identified as Michael Jorge, 31, from Meriden.

According to police, Jorge was arrested while officers were patrolling the Meriden Green in response to drug complaints in that area.

During the surveillance operation, police saw Jorge and a woman walking behind 59 East Main Street, which is a no trespassing area.

Police said Jorge and the woman were about to use drugs.

When officers approached, they said Jorge tried to run away, but was ultimately caught and arrested.

Authorities confirmed Jorge already had three felony and three misdemeanor warrants after failing to appear in court six times.
