CLEVELAND, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Over twenty agencies from across multiple counties responded to a three-alarm fire that broke out at the Daimler Freightliner facility in Cleveland Saturday afternoon.

The fire started shortly before noon at the facility on Statesville Boulevard, according to Rowan County Emergency Services.

Details on what caused the fire remain under investigation by the NC State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM).

During fire suppression efforts, one firefighter fell into a small pit area but was able to safely exit the building.

Thankfully, all employees at the facility were safely evacuated without injury.
