ASHEBORO, N.C. — What started out as a day of shopping turned into a depressing scene for one Asheboro native, Kim Loflin. She was there at the scene of the crime, where two people were shot outside of Marshall's, one still injured, the other dead.

"We live in Asheboro… nothing like this happens in Asheboro," Loflin said.

Saturday night, police said one man died and another was injured after shooting each other in the Marshall's parking lot. Police said the two men argued inside before moving to the parking lot.

At the time, Loflin was paying for her things at Hobby Lobby next door, getting ready to head to Marshall's, when her daughter and an employee said there were gunshots.

Something that didn’t seem to intimidate Loflin. "I'm going outside to see what's going on," Loflin said.
