No trap games or jet lag for Iowa State footbal l in its first contest stateside for 2025.

The Cyclones (2-0) followed up on their Week 0 win over Kansas State with a lopsided 55-7 victory over visiting South Dakota in their home opener at Jack Trice Stadium.

After both teams exchanged touchdowns on their first drives of the game, Iowa State pulled away for a 27-7 halftime lead. The Cyclones clamped the Coyotes in the second half and built on their lead.

Iowa State outgained South Dakota, 529-209.

Rocco Becht completed 19 of 20 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns. Ben Brahmer had seven catches for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Gabe Burkle had a game-high 85 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions. Dylan Lee led Iowa State's rushing attack with 13 second-half car
