ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) — Many kids in New York State will be returning to school in less than a week. Ahead of the first day, one church in Elmira held an end-of-summer block party.

The Living Word Evangelical Free Church filled its lawn with activities for its fourth annual back-to-school block party on Saturday, August 30. The free event included bounce houses, food, and live music.

Organizers said they've had great success with the event in the past, and they're excited for it to be back for a fourth year. They also said it's important to give back to the community in any way possible.
