SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- A public hearing was held at the Town of Southport's Planning Board Meeting on Tuesday night regarding the potential development of senior housing on Plymouth Avenue. Residents voiced their concerns, and the vote was postponed.
Several residents got pretty heated about a site plan amendment for Arbor Housing and Development to develop 60 units of senior apartments at 1205 Plymouth Avenue.
The Chemung County IDA currently owns the site, which was formerly known as the Brookside Mobile Home Park before it was torn down in 2014.
Representatives from Arbor Housing and Development and Fagan Engineers appeared before the Planning Board to provide updates on the project plans and obtain approval to apply for state funding.
