LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky football starts it’s 2025 campaign 1-0 after holding off the Toledo Rockets (0-1) 24-16 at Kroger Field Saturday afternoon.

Seventh-year transfer quarterback Zach Calzada went 10-23 passing for 85 yards and one interception. He rushed for 14 yards on ten carries, including one touchdown.

The Wildcats had 43 carries for 220 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

The UK defense notched three sacks, six tackles for loss and one interception with five quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles, keeping Toledo to 59 rushing yards.

Kentucky will host No. 21 Ole Miss next Saturday.
