SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The family of Lori Ann DeCora, a Native American woman who was killed over 30 years ago, held a memorial ceremony Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, one day after what would have been her 58th birthday.

The event was held in the Sioux City Convention Center, and saw many people coming out to honor the life and memory of DeCora who died on March 10th, 1992, one month after she was stabbed in an attack.

33 years later her family is still seeking justice for her death.

Kayla Buffalo Chief-Sirom, Lori Ann DeCora’s daughter, said she is compelled to put on events like this to keep bringing attention to her mother’s case.
