WAYZATA, Minn. — A former North Dakota State football player who was involved in a confrontation that ended with gunfire has been accused of stealing property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to court documents.

William David Frattalone, 20, is scheduled to appear Sept. 11 in Hennepin County District Court on a felony theft charge. The maximum sentence for the charge he faces is 20 years in prison, court documents said.

A criminal complaint filed Wednesday, Aug. 27, accused Frattalone, a former Bison football safety, of stealing a duffel bag from a boat on July 4 at Maynards Restaurant in Excelsior, Minnesota. The person who reported their bag was stolen said it was stored in a sealed cabin area on his friend's boat, according to the complaint.
