MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man is fighting for his life after a shooting in the Cherokee neighborhood Saturday night.

The Memphis Police Department says that officers got the call at 8:38 p.m. from the 1500 block of Eastlawn Street, located in a subdivision between Prescott Road and Semmes Street.

Officers detained two people at the scene while the victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

MPD says all three people involved do know one another, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
