BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Twenty four arrests and two tons of debris was removed in an enforcement sweep in the Bakersfield area on Friday, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

KCSO said deputies along with staff from District 3 Supervisor Jeff Flores' office, Flood Ministries and Kern Behavior Health coordinated together on the sweep on Aug. 29 targeting loitering and trespassing in known trouble spots.

Officials said they went to "high-complaint areas" including: North Chester Avenue, 1308 Airport Drive, 35184 Merle Haggard Drive and 8331 Kern Canyon Road.

Deputies made 24 arrests -- four were felony arrests. Kern County Public Works cleared 5,000 pounds of trash and debris, KCSO said in a statement.
