BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) -- The third-ranked SDSU football team defeated No. 15 Sacramento State 20-3 in the first game of Dan Jackson's tenure as head coach.

The two teams each kicked a field goal in the first quarter, and the game was knotted at three after one period. The Jacks exploded for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. Chase Mason hit Andrew Gustad for the first TD, and Lofton O'Groske ran in the second as SDSU led 17-3 at the half.

Mason finished 17-for-23 for 190 yards and that one touchdown. Julius Loughridge compiled 159 yards on 22 carries. O'Groske reeled in five catches for 76 yards.

State is set to visit Montana State next Saturday night.
